The event is held under the aegis of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic His Excellency Mr. Ilham Aliyev who personally took part in the opening of the Caspian Oil & Gas 2006 exhibition on the 6th of June 2006.In his Welcome speech the President of Azerbaijan said: "Dear participants of the exhibition and conference! I am happy to greet you at the International Caspian Oil and Gas, Refining and Petrochemicals Exhibition held in the capital of Azerbaijan Baku city. The fact that this significant event has been successfully held for many years once again proves that the modern oil strategy developed by our National Leader Heydar Aliyev was correct.
