Detail: The GEO Asia 2006 Exhibition will play a significant role in the showcasing of new products and services to the regions geoscience community. As a truly regional exhibition it will be attended by representatives of every oil producing country in South East Asia. For the first time the region will have its own exhibition at which geoscientists can see and asses the latest technology at first hand. In addition suppliers to the region will have an opportunity to meet the key geoscientists at one dedicated event. Delegates at the Geological Society of Malaysia conference will be encouraged to attend the exhibition and see what is new in this rapidly developing side of the industry. Particular emphasis will be place on offshore technology. Offshore reserves are seen as the regions future because the seas of South East Asia are relatively under explored. All the oil companies in the region are looking for data that might give them an edge in this very competitive market. In addition improved reservoir management has been given a high priority as existing reserves must be exploited to the full to satisfy local demand growth.
