Detail: The International Franchise Expo (IFE), now in its 13th Year, is the official franchise exhibition of the Franchise Association of Southern Africa,. As the country's only dedicated Franchise show – the International Franchise Expo showcases a wide range of business sectors – from fast food to automotive products; from home services to education; from business-to-business services to entertainment and leisure; from retail to real estate. Recent research has positioned IFE as the leading and most authentic franchise exhibition in the country featuring not only big brands and international contacts but also attracting a strong base of interested visitors and serious buyers. As a dedicated franchise expo, IFE targets and attracts thousands of serious business people who want to own their own businesses, are looking for investment opportunities in franchising and who want to find out more about investing in a franchise. The 2005 International Franchise Expo takes place from the 5 – 7the May at the Sandton Convention Centre. The FASA Awards for Excellence in Franchising, held annually since 1990, remains a highlight of the year's calendar and brings together the association's members and their guests in honouring the top achievers in the field of ethical franchising and business practices. Five categories of franchising are honoured: Franchisor of the Year, Franchisee of the Year, Franchisor: Leading Developer of Emerging Entrepreneur, Newcomer Franchisor of the Year and Brand Builder of the Year – all reflecting the diversity of franchising and allowing all sectors of the franchise industry to participate.
