| Detail: Recycling is one of the best waste management success stories of the late 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century. Apart from reducing the need for landfilling and incineration, recycling turns materials that would otherwise become waste into valuable resources. However, collecting recyclable materials is just the first step. After collecting the waste, recyclables are sorted and processed into raw materials such as fibers, and raw materials are manufactured into new products.
