This branch also provides demand of population with medical textiles, uniform, work wear and shoes, and means for personal protection. The purposes and priorities of Light Industry development for satisfaction of demand of a home market the domestic goods of household, special and technical purpose and increase in export of production of branch are determined by the Concept for development of light industry in Russia. The Concept is applied for the period till 2010. The purposes of the Concept are creation of the conditions providing development of the Russian light industry, and also increase of a production efficiency of the modern competitive goods satisfying need of the population, state and enterprises. In connection with practical absence of wholesale trade, manufacturers basically are engaged in realization of production, therefore trading extra charges on it are minimal. In consumer prices the volume of manufacture of branch makes approximately 90 billion roubles, and the market capacity in 2001 has made approximately 400 billion roubles.
