Detail: With 80% of available stand space already confirmed and over six months remaining before the show opens, the Moscow International Travel & Tourism exhibition is again preparing for an outstanding event to showcase domestic and international destinations and services to the valuable Russian tourist market. The latest estimates from the UNWTO stated that over 28 millions Russians travelled in 2005 and growth is expected to be no less than 11 to 12% for the coming years. These figures, combined with the fact that Russian tourists are respected as being amongst the highest spenders in the world, means that the Russian travel & tourism market continues to attract the increasing attention of the global travel and tourism trade. MITT remains the undisputed premier industry event in Russia. In 2006, the event hosted more than 2,500 exhibitors from 111 countries and regions and 98,000 visitors, thus proving once more, that MITT is the only event that truly reflects the vibrancy and continuous growth of the Russian travel & tourism industry. The strong outbound market will be interested to see prominent stands from Greece, Turkey, Cyprus and Bulgaria in Expocentr's Pavilion 2 Hall 1. Bulgaria, who again increased their stand in the last 4 consecutive years, is keen to promote spa and wellness tourism in order to expand their traditional client base. Key tour operators to these regions such as Olympic Tours, Zeus Travel, Biblio Globus, Maxi Tours and Mouzenidis will be located in the same area of the exhibition. MITT's Senior Event and Sales Director, Miss Frederique Maurell noted that, "the Mediterranean regions are promoting themselves aggressively to the Russian market and efforts are paying off. This region is witnessing a growing number of visitors and Turkey, Greece, Italy and France are amongst the top ten destinations for Russians".http://www.mitt.ru/about/about_eng.php |
